Sorry y'all! Bouncing on your birth ball may be kind of fun, but it's not actually helping your pelvis and pelvic floor prepare for baby's grand entrance. The good news is- there are SO many easy tweaks to get more out of your birth ball.
Let's make those birth ball movements way more efficient than bouncing with some pelvic mobility
Pelvic Tilts: tuck and untuck your tailbone. Try to do this just in the low back and pelvis, not a full upper body cat/cow. This movement helps mobilize the pelvis and create space in the Pelvic Inlet and Pelvic Outlet.
Pelvic Circles: circle your pelvis like you're drawing circles with your tailbone. This motion helps to create space in the Mid Pelvis and to mobilize the pelvic floor muscles.
Wide Hip Circles: Lean forward as needed and circle your hips with the feet wide. This hip movement helps mobilize the pelvis and hips.
There are so many benefits to these birth ball pelvic mobility movements
All of these simple birth ball movements can be done any time during pregnancy, as you prepare for birth and even DURING labor. The birth ball is a great tool if you're dealing with low back pain during pregnancy.
My Aligned and Empowered Prenatal Program has 3 different birth ball classes to help you feel strong, stay mobile and prepare for birth.
